A year round recreation destination and community hub that was designed with the community, for the community. Symons Valley Park will have something for everyone.
Play, connect, unwind, right here in the neighbourhood.
A casual game of ice hockey on the weekend. A summer evening laughing with friends around a fire pit. A quiet walk in the natural forest to unwind after a busy day. With Symons Valley Park, you'll be able to do this and more, while staying right here in the neighbourhood.
Located south of Sage Hill Crossing along Symons Valley Parkway, Symons Valley Park is within walking and biking distance for many area residents and a short, 5-minute or less drive from anywhere in the neighbourhood.
In 2017, more than 1,500 area residents from Kincora, Nolan Hill, Sage Hill, and Sherwood shared their input to help shape the concept plan for Symons Valley Park. Key features of Symons Valley Park include:
A natural forest with walking / biking trails;
An NHL-size multipurpose rink for ice and pavement activities;
Tennis and pickleball courts;
A bicycle skills park and trails;
A barbecue and picnic area;
An Amphitheatre; and,
Getting to construction.
Based on the concept plan, developing Symons Valley Park is estimated to cost approximately $3 million. Private sponsorship, community fundraising and government support will be needed to build the recreation and community hub for area residents for years to come.
Our focus is on raising the funds needed for detailed design and engineering and development permits in order to break ground and start construction.
We're actively applying for government and private sector grants. If your employer has corporate matching gift program or funds for community projects, or if you can help with fund development and applications, please email
