with the community, for the community.
Symons Valley Park will be located on a City-owned parcel along Symons Valley Parkway, south of Sage Hill Crossing.
In 2017, more than 1,500 residents shared their input to help shape the concept plan for Symons Valley Park. A concept plan has been developed and includes:
An NHL-size multipurpose rink for ice and pavement activities;
Basketball nets and pickleball;
A bicycle skills park and trails
A picnic area with barbecue stands
An Amphitheatre; and,
Help bring this exciting project to your community.
Getting to construction.
Based on the concept plan, developing Symons Valley Park is estimated to cost approximately $3 million. Private sponsorship, community fundraising and government support will be needed to build the recreation and community hub for area residents for years to come.
Our project plan consists of four stages:
Stage 1: Concept and project planning, fundraising
Stage 2: Detailed design and engineering, fundraising
Stage 3: Pre-construction (e.g., land transfer, permits, etc.),
Stage 4: Construction
Our current focus is on raising the funds needed for detailed design and engineering, through community fundraising and applying for government grants.
