2024 Movie in the Park

We had an amazing turn out at our 2024 Movie in the Park! Hundreds of neighbours came out to enjoy a screening of Disney's Inside Out 2.

Our title sponsor Calgary Blizzard Soccer Club was on site to get a spontaneous game going with a dozen kids before the show started, and our Food Truck vendors Alberta Burger and Cookie Dough Stand were on there to keep attendees fed.

Special thanks to our volunteers for organizing this free event to bring people together, and for manning the concession stand.

2022 Movie in the Park

On Sept. 17, 2022, hundreds of neighbours came together to enjoy Disney's BIG HERO 6 in Symons Valley Park.

Thanks to our wonderful event sponsors, we had sufficient funds to bring a portable play space, a bouncy castle and inflatable obstacle course, and a movie vendor onsite.

Hosting this event costed over $7,200, but it was worth every penny to see everyone enjoy the evening.

2020 Open House & Holiday Auction

On Nov. 24, we hosted an online Open House for area residents to learn more about the Symons Valley Park project, and the Symons Valley Leisure & Amenities Society. The event also kicked-off our Holiday Auction, which combined with a private matching donation program, raised nearly $4,400. Click below to see the presentation.

May 2020 Rain Barrel Fundraiser

With the generous donation of rain barrels from the Elements of Nolan Hill, we hosted a rain barrel sale in May 2020 and raised $2,360.00! This is
our single largest amount of funds raised to date.

Over 500 community residents and guests joined us on the future Symons Valley Park site for a day of family fun activities.

2019 Silent Auction Fundraiser

Thanks to the generous donations of area businesses and the support of community members, the 2019 Family Fun Day Silent Auction raised over $1,200 for Symons Valley Park.

2017 Open House with Original Board Members

Symons Valley Leisure & Amenities Society (SVLAS) was established in 2017 with community residents like you. The Board hosted an Open House to share results from the community survey, which asked residents what amenities they'd like to see included in the future Symons Valley Park.
